Please have a look at primus emc180389 ..

Powerpath does its job even when you use "native" (Solaris) devices ( cXtYdZs2 ) .. So the solution is to simply run metainit against the native devices.

Cheers !! :D

Does emc180389 only apply to PowerPath 5.0? We have Sys Admins who have been using the pseudo device without any issues on PowerPath 5.2 .1 and 5.3.

Please use the full device naming ---

like metaset -s oraset -a /dev/dsk/emcpowera /dev/dsk/emcpowerb /dev/dsk/emcpowerc

or for clusters---

metaset -s oraset -a /dev/did/dsk/d25 /dev/did/dsk/d24
