Solution Enabler Problem

Question

Hi , We have a Symmetrix array an EMC 3930 which is direct attached and we cannot manage this box. We are trying to decomm this box , currently we believe that there is just 1 server connected to this box and need to verify that . But when we try to run below cmds , it gives us following errors : root@genin01 [/opt/emc/SYMCLI/bin]#./symcfg discover This operation may take up to a few minutes. Please be patient... The powermt o/p shows all disks assigned and active to this server genin01 ,there are around 80 devices , e/g of one disk is below : Pseudo name=hdiskpower0 Symmetrix ID=000183701436 Logical device ID=00C1 state=alive; policy=SymmOpt; priority=0; queued-IOs=0 ============================================================================== ---------------- Host ---------------   - Stor -   -- I/O Path -  -- Stats --- ### HW Path                 I/O Paths    Interf. also the ./symcli version installed is : V7.2.0.0

you might have to get with support, i doubt the version of SE that old is available on PowerLink.

the enginuity version is 5265 and SE is v7.2.0.0 . We will be decommissiong this array and since there is only 1 server connected to it through which we should be able to manage this box , we cannot run the symcli cmds..

you need to find a version of solutions enabler that supports that specific Enginuity version.  Are you trying to find the version that will allow you to manage that box ?

This box is out of support , thats the reason we are hoping to run symcli cmds so that we can perform the secure erase too, is there another way to find out if the version will be supported on the SE

secure erasure on the old box, not likely. Take the drives out and shred them ..i have no idea what SE version would work with that box.

does anyone have the powerdown procedure of DMX 3930 model ? I see the old one to be DMX 800.
