Stripe Crossings
Good Morning,
We have just brought our Clariion cx-300i on line and moved a few test shares over to it so we dont yet have a clear picture of what is 'normal'.
Having said that, I have been watching the LUN statistics (under LUN properties) for the Test LUN we are running and have noticed that it runs what seems to be a high number of stripe crossings: ie in the few days we've been running this 1 test LUN we've accumulated 277078 Stripe Crossings. The LUN is not heavily used other than the copying of data over to it.
When I created the partition, I followed the instructions the installer gave me for setting up a new partition on a Win2K3 server, which were:
Create Partition Primary Align=64
Does this seem like exessive stripe crossings to anyone or is about normal?
Thx

I was going to move this over to the Clariion subforum, but you've already got a dupl. thread over there, and it looks like some good feedback.
Here's a link to the new thread:
(Very good question, by the way)

I'm going to lock this one, no need to have both going.
