As a moderator (I mean not an expert in PowerPath) and using the search on Support Solutions and the string " PowerPath driver version magic mismatch" brings back at the top of the list: emc114005 http://knowledgebase.emc.com/emcice/login.do?sType=BX1990&id=emc114005 which does not mention SLSE10 and also points to a PowerPath Support Matrix which only goes as far as SLES9, so you may be correct.
Also looking at the E-Lab navigator I see that SLES 10 is supported for BASE connectivety but only on 32-bit and x86_64 and NOT supported by PP yet. I would think there would be a release soon for it:
For the BASE OS Connectivety: SuSE SLES: [32-Bit] 103, 4, 15, 16, 17, [x86_64] 103, 4, 16, 17 PCI Express QLogic: QLE2360-E-SP21, QLE2362-E-SP 8.01.04-k14 FC-AL, FC-SW EMC CLARiiON: CX3-40c/CX3-20c, CX3-80/CX3-40/CX3-20, CX600/CX400, CX700/CX500 Y Yes 1.051
If you are not running x86_64 then "Try" (Big word here try as it is still not officaially supported) to install the i386 install. That errors sounds like you have the wrong arch rpm for your SLES load.

Correct. The PP 4.5 release notes do not mention support for SLES 10. The error in original post is therefore not unexpected.
There is no current version of Powerpath available for SLES 10.
See other thread regarding when new Powerpath for SLES 10 will be available:
