unbalance path

Question

HI i have this issues on powerpath. I did a HBA replacement on one of my servers and i done masking and zoning for the new HBA and everything looks fine on the storage side. but when i issues the powermt dispaly it show some unbalance paths, but on powermt display ports no dead paths showing. What should i do on the server side to remove the existing devices that was masked to old HBA?

Can you please post the output from powermt display and powermt display dev=all so we can see exactly what you are referring to as unbalanced?

What OS is it?
Possible that you need to rescan for devices to pick up the devices down the new path. Then add them to PowerPath config by running powermt config; powermt save

Do you have PowerPath fully licensed?You may need to issue 'powermt set mode=so' or 'mode=co' depending the storage.so = SymmetrixOpt ; co = CLARiiON

what about if we have sym anc clar on the same host? Do we need issue one with and so and another with co??

To set all CLARiiON devices with CLARopt policy:
powermt set policy=co class=clariion

To set all Symm devices with SymmOpt policy:
powermt set policy=so class=symm

don't for get to run powermt save when complete.
