Windows Server has 1 dead path
I have a windows 2003 server running Powerpath 5.
The server has 2 physical HBA's and 4 logical paths to an EMC Clariion cx3-80.
One of the paths is in a dead state. Does anyone know how I can fix this path ?
I tried powermt restore and that did nothing. Both HBA's on the server are working, one has 2 active paths, and the other has 1 active one dead. I know that the path to the Clariion is good because other servers are using it.
I am windows illiterate when it comes to Powerpath. What can I do to troubleshoot this problem and get the path back online.

The 2 primary are as follows
1) the zone for the dead path has been inadvertantly removed
2) the path on to the Clariion is not active.
To make sure it is active check on the Clariion that the path appears as logged and registered in connectivity status.
If it is registered but not logged in then see 1
If it is logged in then do the following
a) ctrl-shift-f12 and enter engineering password (see EMC support if you do not have this)
b) right click the storage group and select connect luns
c) hit the advanced button
d) make sure all 4 paths are selected.
If neither of the above apply then you may need to do the following
take the host out of the storage group
deregister the paths in connectivity status
reboot the host
put the host back in
Only do this if a) naviagent is installed and b) you are not booting from the Clariion.
