725n diagnostic error msg: low value VBATT

Does anyone know what this diagnostic error message means?

low value VBATT

I found it by running the system utilities.  The orange dianostic light was blinking on the front panel. so I investigated.

If you boot into the diagnostics and look at voltages, you will find that the BIOS battery is low.  This is a standard CR2032 found in any PC.  Replace it and all will be well. I found this to be a problem with systems within 6 months of delivery, so either Dell had a bad batch of batteries, or these units are battery hogs when there is no power (during shipping).

Don't waste your time with support.  They had nothing in their knowledge base and couldn't even tell me I should boot into diagnostics and look at the voltages.  Once I found the source of the problem, I replaced the battery with a new one and all has been well.  I notified support of the problem and am still waiting (over a year later) for my replacement batteries...
