Access MD3200 Service Interface via Putty
Hi All, I recently acquired a MD3200 and I cant work out what the controller IP addresses are.
After a bit of hunting around, I found some instructions on how to connect to it via COM port.
However, when I press CTRL BREAK I get:
Press within 5 seconds: for Service Interface, for baud rate
If I press S or caps S nothing happens.
If I press BREAK then I get the baud rate settings, so something is happening.... but I cant get into the Service interface...
Is there something I am missing?
Thanks,
Nathan

Hi SAM,
I have dell 3200i storage and all of a sudden management access was not working. i have tried all the possible ways to access.
1) Connected back to back to my laptop and tried pinging the ip no response.
2) connected to console cable and access to reset the ip and tried accessing bot no response on the management ports.
i am facing the same king of issue with four md3200i arrays. please suggest me any other options or commands to fix the management access of the arrays without rebooting the controllers.

Hello PM team,
If you are not able to access the management IP when direct connected to the management port, and you have out- of- band management configured then you will need to reboot the controllers. In most cases you should be able to ping the controller when direct connected.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi. We have Dell MD storage. It is possible to use X11 auth to open the storagemanager client software(SMclient) ? I tried opening via ssh and I got this error
xdpyinfo: unable to open display "".
Unable to launch GUI due to X server display setting problem, Exiting .

Hello vincent718,
Are you using the serial cable that came with your MD3200? Here are the terminal settings (115200-8-n-1) that need to be used. If you are only trying to use SMCLI then you will need to do that from the system that has MDSM installed on it.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello Budarpu,
In your screenshot there is line Password Incorrect. It shouldn't be here, did you try to enter password?
Could you please also share, which version of controller is installed?
Please ask me if you have any questions,
