Adding ME424 to existing ME4024
Hello
I am getting a ME424 to add disk array to the ME4024
What are the steps to add the array or configure the management port for the ME424
Per instructions, It say to
1. power down the ME4024
2. cable SAS the ME424 to ME4024
3. power on ME424
4. Power on ME4024
then what is next? will the ME4024 see the ME424 or is there additional steps to set up the ME424
What about the management port for the ME424

Yes, the ME4024 should automatically recognize the additional storage from the ME424 once they are properly connected and powered on. However, you may need to perform a rescan or refresh in the management interface to ensure the new storage is detected and available for use. Ref:https://dell.to/3Be2dDO
No, you do not need to connect the management port on the ME424 expansion enclosure if you are already using the ME4024 storage array. The management port on the ME424 is not used in configurations where it is connected to a ME4024 controller
