Best way to setup NAS

Hi all, we have 2 powervault 745 NAS`s and 2 poweredge 1750 servers what would be the best way to configure these units?

at the moment we have one NAS with all the users home folders on and a poweredge 1750 that acts as a DC. the powervault tends to 'slow down' abit under full load :) could i use both NAS`s to load balance ? i tried DFS but it was way too slow. or should i split the users across both NAS`s i.e. half the users home folders on one and half on the other?? need a very cheep solution :)
