Can't Setup RMU IP Address

We're trying to set up a PowerVault 132T right out of the box. The first thing we try to do is connect it to our LAN and set up the RMU (so we can configure it using a web interface instead of those awful little buttons and LCD). We read the instructions for setting up the RMU in the user's guide. So using the buttons we set the IP address and subnet mask and gateway for the RMU just as it says to in the user's guide.

But it just doesn't take. We cannot start the RMU interface from a browser (the request times out). Pinging the IP address we gave it returns nothing. And when I go back to the buttons and look at the RMU config on the LCD screen I see the IP address is right back at the defaults where it started as if we hadn't set anything. We've tried this over and over. The IP address we give it never sticks. It doesn't show an error or anything. But whatever we put in for IP address isn't there the next time we look. Is there some other step we need to have done first?

Once you have setup the IP and you select the "check" mark does it come back with Set NET CFG Complete on the LCD?

Verify the network cable is plugged into the correct spot?

Answer:
No! I never saw that message. I think the issue was, I wasn't hitting the check mark after entering all the addresses. I was hitting the "back" mark that popped me up a level in the menu without changing anything.

When I enter each IP address and then hit "check", I see the NET CFG Complete message and we can hit the RMU from a web browser.

Thanks very much.
