Dell MD1200 Power vault - Virtual Disks Missing

Hi guys

I really hope somebody can help!!

We have a server and MD1200 PV that was moved to an external datacentre over the weekend, unfortunately the guys who relocated the devices also had another server with a MD3200 too which they confused when racking.

My understanding is that the wrong PV was connected to the wrong server and after which they were not able to get the configurations working so brought one of the servers and both PVs back.

Since connecting the devices correctly we now see the following error:

All of the disks from your previous configuration are gone. If this is an unexpected message, then please power off your system and check your cables to ensure all disks are present. Press any key to continue, or 'C' to load the configuration utility.

As the disks have data on them, that we ideally would like to save, does anyone know of a way we can recover the Virtual Disk Configuration back to its original state?

Just to say we checked the switch on front of MD1200 and is set to Unified as expected.

Any help appreciated as pretty desperate.

Thanks

Hello, Nitrox1234.

So, here's what we need to do:

Shut down the server. Disconnect the PowerVault MD1200. Boot it back up, and when you get that message, just press any key to continue. Then shut it back down. When it's down, reconnect the PowerVault MD1200, and boot it back up. At that point, you should see a "foreign configuration". Choose the "Import" option, and import the foreign configuration.

Let me know how that goes.

Have a good rest of the week.
