Dell PowerVault 100T DDS4 - Offline
I have been backing up everyday and recently it does not backup or show an error for not backing up
Under Job Status it will say "Not in Time Window"
Also under Devices in Veritas Backup Exec V.9.0
it will show my tape drive as offline.
Under My Computer --> Hardware --> Device Mgr Is shows the tape as enabled and working properly.
Archive Python 06408-XXX SCSI
PV 100T DDS4
Firmware V. 9050
I try to do a test run and it gives me an error of:
Media Check
Online media check : Insufficient online or nearline media is available to start job.
Overwrite media check: There is no media online or nearline that can be overwritten or the job has been marked append/terminate.
Media check status : Failed
Server: PowerEdge 1600SC
OS: Windows 2000 SP4
Can anyone offer any help?
Thanks.
Dee

I wonder if this has to do with any updates that the server automatically downloads or installs?
I have gotten more feedback and help at tek-tips
See my post there: http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1129405&page=1
I have finally got to the point to be able to upgrade to 9.1 - doing that now - so we'll see after that if it recognizes the drive after that.

While pouring through Removable Storage services
we discovered that the services run by American Power
Conversion Powerchute Business Edition 6.0 were not starting.
A check of www.apcc.com we disclosed an urgent
notice to upgrade to version 7.X http://727.apcc.com/. The
impacts listed in answer ID 7202 cites inability to stop
services.
I rebooted into safe mode. Used msconfig.exe to disable the
APC services and rebooted. The system came up without problem
and tape drive was recognized by removable storage and Veritus.
I am running a full backup as we speak.
I hope this helps.
