How do I reset the control panel PIN on a TL2000 ?
Hello,
I just took over for someone who is no longer with the company and have discovered that there is a PIN set on the control panel of my PowerVault TL2000. I can't find any documentation indicating what the PIN was set to (and my first couple dozen guesses have not panned out), so I am looking to reset the PIN to a factory default. How do I go about accomplishing this ?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide...

Hello crashbrandenburg,
Can you get into the Web utility for your TL2000? If you can then you can reset the system back to the defaults so the OCP will not have a password on it & the web utility default user name & password will go back to Admin/secure. To reset the passwords from the web utility you go to Configure menu Save/Restore Restore Factory Defaults. If you are not able to gain access to the unit via the web utility then the only other way to reset the system is to have a dell service technician come out & reset the pin manually from the OCP.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello, Sam L... thanks for your response
Unfortunately, I do not have access to the web interface. The device is directly connected to a server and managed via a 3rd party backup software solution. I can use this software to monitor and manage backups, but this is of limited consolation since i can't eject tapes from the library for off-site backup, nor can I insert a cleaning cartridge. Getting a Dell tech here is problematic, so i will continue with trying to guess the PIN.
Are there any brute-force-preventive restrictions on OCP PIN attempts, or can I just plug away at it ?

Hello crashbrandenburg,
You should be good to plug away at trying to figure out the OCP pin.
