iSCSI issues in migrating to ME4024 from PS4100

We are in the process of moving from an Equallogic PS4100 to an ME4024 in a VMWare ESXi 6.0 environment. The three clustered ESXi hosts are connected to the storage via two Cisco switches.  For iSCSI traffic, the PS4100 had its own single VLAN with the same IP address deployed over the two controllers in an Active/Passive configuration.

For the ME4024:

  1. Two separate VLANs have been configured on the switches for the new storage/interface. (Both switches are configured to use Jumbo frames.) Both of the new VLANs use Class C addressing, like the one for the PS4100.
  2. Ping tests between the ESXi hosts are the storage have been mixed (see below)
  3. I have configured the ESXi host initiators within the ME4024 and established a single Host Group
  4. The storage has been configured with its IP addresses in the following manner:
  • Controller A Port 0 - Subnet A
  • Controller B Port 0 - Subnet A
  • Controller A Port 1 - Subnet A
  • Controller B Port 1 - Subnet A
  • Controller A Port 2 - Subnet B
  • Controller B Port 2 - Subnet B
  • Controller A Port 3 - Subnet B
  • Controller B Port 3 - Subnet B

Here are our issues:

  1. The ping tests work for Subnet A but not subnet B (all switch port lights are green) - Is this normal for an ME4024 controller configuration?
  2. The VMWare storage adapters do not see the storage at all. Any thoughts on what I might be missing?

One more item - we have opened up a ticket with VMWare on this. I'm just looking for a second pair of eyes who might know the idiosyncrasies of ME4024s.  Thanks for the assist and apologies for any dumb questions.
