MD3000 alerts
I'm trying to put together a monitoring document for our operations department and would love to find a listing of what fault conditions will cause the array controller to send an SNMP alert. Anyone aware of anything that would provide info like that? Nothing on the documentation CD or the manuals I found here http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/md3000/en/2ndGen/index.htm have helped much.
Also, can anyone provide a link to a MIB for the array?
Thanks,
e.

The MIB file for the MD3000 array can be located in the following location on a x64 system
C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\MD Storage Manager\client\DellMDStorageArray.mib

Thank you very much, I'll see if it's in a comparable location on a Unix system.

The MD3000/MD3000i will generate alerts for all critical events as logged in the event log.

That's what I've read. Unfortunately, this company's backwards handoff system for operations requires that I identify every alert that could be sent to our NOC and have an M&P written for each specific event. They will only act on an alert with an M&P associated with it and "escalate" is not a valid action. Dumb, I know, but that's the situation. I guess I'll just have to mine the logs and try to stay one step ahead of the events.
Thank you for your reply.
Sincerely,
e.
