MD3000i replacement of failed disk

Hi.

A physical disk had a predicted failure on one of our MD3000i devices. I forced a manual fail on the physical disk using the SMcli following the recovery steps, the disk groups started rebuilding onto the hot spare. I then removed the disk with the predicted failure and then replaced it with a new disk and it showed as failed. I've tested the new disk in another MD3000i and it shows as optimal.

When I forced the old disk with the predicted failure into a failed state do I need to ut the new disk in an optimal state?
