MD3620 - Single LUN failure in RAID group

Hi,

I had a power interruption on an MD3620F and afterwards one of the disk groups (RAID 5 - 12 disks) is reporting that it is failed due to a disk being removed. All disks (3TB SATA) , incl H/S are online. Strangely when you expand the Disk Group you can see that 9 of the 10 (2TB) LUNS are green and only one is in a failed state. The recovery Guru is reporting failed disk but there isn't one afaics and there is nothing in the gui to "rescue" or otherwise recover the failed LUN.

Any advice much appreciated.

Hello gerrybarnett,

What you are going to need to do is to contact support so that they can resolve this for you.  What has happened is that there is a reporting conflict between the MD & MDSM.  What will need to be done is that support will need to get a support bundle and se which drives are reporting as failed in the log.  Once that has been found then they will need to take the drive offline & bring it back online.  I recommend that you contact support so that this process can be done correctly & can preserve your data as if it is done wrong all data can be lost.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
