MD3800 - Failed virtual disk - Physical disk failure
Hi,
I'm using MD3800 storage.I have one disk group and used Raid 5.I didn't see the storage array at all in VMWare, and when I look at MDSM, I see that the storage array has a failed virtual disk. I verified that all the drives were Optimal. But my virtual disk status is failed right now.I can't connect my datastore on vmware.
- I rebooted storage
- I ejected/inserted a physical disk.
- I tried to increase disk size.(it didn't let me)
How can i fixed that problem ?

Hello Palastar,
Did your MD3800 lose power or reboot unexpectedly recently? If all the drives are online then you can try to revive the disk group. Here is the link to the SMCLI guide and if you look on page 273, & it list the revive disk group command. https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/powervault-md3200_cli-guide_en-us.pdf
If the revive disk group doesn’t work, then we will need to look at a support bundle to see what is going on with your MD3800.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello Palastar,
Since there was not a unexpected reboot we would need to look at a support bundle from your MD3800. There is a chance that you might have data loss. It is best to review the support bundle, so we can see why the virtual disk went offline. I will send you a private message so that you can send me the log.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
