PE 730Xd with TL2000
My customer is using PV TL2000 LTO4-120 HH SAS with SAS 5/E HBA. They have purchased a new R730xd server and connected the card and the TL . After that server fans are running at high rpm . Dell Support team informed to use 12Gb Card ( DELL 405-AADZ SAS 12Gbps HBA External Controller. ) and that card is not compatible to connect with the TL2000 .
Anybody come across this

Hello Sajeev S,
In your case since you have upgraded your server to an PER730xd the only compatible HBA that will work with your TL2000 is a 12GB SAS HBA that you listed. Here is also a link to our support matrix for the TL2000 & if you look on page 9 & 10 it shows you which drives are compatible and which HBA is needed for your server. ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/Common/Dell_PowerVault_Compatibility_Matrix_en-us.pdf

Yes you are correct in that since you are changing the HBA you need to also get the 12gb cable so that you can connect the TL2000 to your PE R730.

Hi Sam,
If you look on the 12 GB SAS connecter , that will not connect with the existing TL 2000 as that is a SAS. It look like it required a min2 sas HD cable . The compatibility matrix shows 12 GB SAS is compatible to TL 2000, but unfortunately existing connection required the particular cable to connect .
