PowerEge 1750
Hi
I have a DELL PowerEdge 1750. I am purchasing the Certance CD 40 Desktop tape drive for the system. The Interface type on the DELL stated it uses an external 68-pin VHDC SCSI port. While the tape drive uses Ultra2 SCSI LVD. Are these two ports compatible or do I have to purchase a CABLE or Connector to interface to allow the two port ends to be compatible.
Thanks

The correct part number for the cable is 8948X. It is a 68 pin Very High Density (VHDC) to 68 pin High Density cable (smaller at one end).
Dell spare parts can be reached by phone at 1-800-357-3355.
Note: If you have the optional Perc 4/di installed, ensure the second channel is set to SCSI in the System BIOS.
Thanks for using the Dell Community Forums!

It does not appear this part is available online.
This link will help for future part searches:

If this search page does not find the part(s), unfortunately it will be necessary to call.
Thanks

I would be ordering from the Dell Canada site, is the part number you gave me the same for the Canadian DELL spare parts division.
thanks

Thanks

The server has the female port. The cable I mentioned has both male connections.
thanks
