PowerVault 110T DLT Internal Drive not recognized after installing windows 2000 server
S.O.S.
Please can someone help with my PowerVault 110 DLT1 internal tape drive. It was purchase after setting up windows 2000 server. I though it was a plugNplay device... but on connecting the drive, it is not recongized by the Dell server. I have changed the SCSI IDs from 6 default to 9 to 12 but still the drive can't be recognized by the OS.
What can I do please ?
Do I have to set up the Dell server afresh to get it recognised ?

I tried both sequences Ctrl + M and Ctrl +A but i do not see the DLT still.
This is driving me nuts because i may get a crash anytime.
If you have new ideas they are welcome.

I am having the same issue with an Power Edge 600sc and a Python Archive drive. Fresh Server install, it's in Device Manager, it's in Removable Media, ran DellOpenManage diagnostics and it passed all tests. Checked SCSI Utility (Ctrl+A) etc, nothing has helped.
If anyone has any ideas...

I have Dell PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller 2/DC.
There was a tape before and it got spoilt. So the other was removed and the cables were unplugged from the DLT unit. A new one was got and connected to where the old one was. The new DLT Tape is not recognised at all even after windows 2000 server installation. It is connected to a high density 68-pin internal SCSI connector.

Feel like a m0r0n. Not running any backup software (useing NTBACKUP off of Server install) , and as stated in my previous post, I could not see the Python Archive drive anywhere except in Management console under Removable Media.
Here's the m0r0n part, when I went to setup a backup originally I never realized that I could choose the "Backup Destination" to be 4mm DDS.
I've done this now, and wouldn't you guess, I have a functional tape backup. Feel very stupid, but I hope this helps a least one person with a similar problem.
