PowerVault 110T DLT VS 80 setup

Hi,
 
I currently have a 110T DLT VS 80 connected to an Adaptec AHA-2940UW.
I am having trouble seting it up, after connecting the two devices together i am unable to get the tape drive working, the card does not seem to detect the tape drive an either freezes if i get to windows xp pro startup window, or freezes when i go into the scsi cards bios.
 
Any help would be much appreciated.

Check your cabling. Mainly make sure there's a terminator on the open connector on the drive. Also, officially, that drive has only been certified with an Adaptec 39160 (tho there's no real reason a 2940 wouldn't work, except if you're using an LVD terminator on an SE scsi chain).

Be sure the SCSI ID for the tape drive is not set to the same SCSI ID as the controller card.
