Powervault 122T configuration with multiple servers.

I have 2 Dell Servers a PowerEdge 2850 and a 725N and I am wondering how to make the tape drive link to all the Servers using the SCSI cable, and in what order.  Also we have a PowerVault 220S connected to the 2850 server.  Any help or diagrams would be great.

You will only connect the 122T to one server. That server will be responsible for backing up the others on the network.

Multi-initiator connections will not be supported w/ that library.

Really no way to increase the performance of your network backups, you are limited to the speed of the network.

segment the backup units on the network to ensure minimal network traffic during the backup window.

be sure you are optimizing your backup strategy for proper coverage ie. incremental daily/full weekly etc. vs. just doing daily full backups.

What is the best way to make backing up the other servers faster and shorter in time?  How do you increase performance for the backing up across a network?

Is it possible to connect the 124T (LTO-3) to two servers? If so, is there documentation available anywhere on how do configure the servers?

Thanks!

Dell libraries do not support multi-initiator configurations.
