Powervault 124t will not power up
Hey! I have a customer who's 124T will not power up at all. No lights on the front panel, they tried different outlets.
I figure I need to order a new power supply. Does anyone have the part number?

Hello Stonewall40,
When it comes to the PV124T power supply when a replacement is needed under warranty we will replace the entire unit. Now I am guessing that you are out of warranty on the unit, which in that case I would suggest that you check online as there are some resellers that sell just the replacement power supply for the PV124T.

we installed the new PS and the 124t powered up ok but now we were getting error 6e which refers to tape alert logs - the tape alert logs show error 002 and 000008
all the while we cant see the actual drive info in the web interface, I'm not sure what to do next and the host server cant see the drive either
it almost seems that the drive itself is faulty also?
and advice would be appreciated!

Hello Stonewall40,
Ok the 6E error is a drive communication error. What I would do is to check the drive & make sure that the cable is connected & didn’t come off. Also with the other 2 error are referring to the tape drive needs to be cleaned Error 000008 that the drive may need to be cleaned. For the error code 002 that is showing that the media that was last in the drive or currently in the drive may have damage to it & needs to be replaced.
