Powervault 136T & Backup Exec 8.6
I've have a PV-136E with 4 SDLT drives hooked to a 51F fiber controller, through a fiber bridge connected to the controller.
All of the hardware shows up in Windows 2000 device manager, the library and the drives. But when I configure the hardware in Backup Exec, it scans the SCSI bus and loads the drivers for the sdlt drives, but it never sees the library itself. I've tried everything including uninstalling and reinstalling BE, and updating the drivers.
I have a call in with Dell and was on the phone for about 3 hours going through various checks to make sure the hardware was configured correctly, and it was. The Dell tech is still working on this problem but I thought I would expand the search for an answer.

I think with Backup Exec v8.6, you may need to install the autoloader / robot option. Double check this option in the Backup Exec installation (the section where you check mark all your options).
Backup Exec creates a adamm.log file which will lists all devices it finds on the SAN. Check this file to see if it detects the robot.
Make sure that the library has the latest firmware from the DELL website.
In the OS device manager, the the library show up as a "Unknown Medium Changer" or "DELL 136T".
