PowerVault DLT7000 I/O Device Errors
I have verified the F/W of the Loader (Firmware version D116 which is the latest according to Dell's website) and the F/W of the Drive (Firmware version 2255).
Loader S/N: 34003E2046
Drive S/N: CXA0253242
Running on an AHA-3944 Adaptec Card.
ADIC Scsi ID: 1
DLT7000 Scsi ID: 3
Server: Dell 500SC with 2gig RAM and Windows 2000 SP4
Using Veritas Backup Exec. v9.1
Have tried both Windows drivers and Veritas Drivers with no success.
Brand New Cable from Adaptec Card to Autoloader.
I get approx. 5gig into a Back up and the device reports an I/O Error then fails the backup. Then most times it will switch the Autoloader to Off-Line.
I have even tried to contact Dell to send in the AutoLoader and have them test it.
I purchased this device from a defuncted .COM company about a 2 years ago. At the time it was working perfectly and had no problems up till about 4 months ago. Been trying different solutions (ones suggested here on the forums and ones suggested by Dell Support Techs with no success).
I am at my wits end.....would like to know how to get in touch with a Dell Tech (preferable an English Speaking Dell Tech) that I can talk to about sending the device in for testing (and possibly repair work). Or should I contact ADIC about sending in the device????

Dell offers no testing or repair.
You may need to contact ADIC or Quantum for repairs.
