Powervault LT04 Error Code 5
Hi all:
On a recent hard reboot after a planned power outage our Powervault LT04 is flashing an SCD error code 5, and seems to be stuck in a loop doing so. Prior to this everything appeared to be working perfectly and nightly backups via Backup Exec were all apparently functioning perfectly.
Does anyone know if this error is fatal?

Hello Howertings,
An error code 5 is stating that there is a possible drive error. What you can try to do is to hold in the eject button for about 20 seconds & let the drive cycle & reboot & once it finishes rebooting see if the error comes back again. If the error returns then your drive has a hardware failure & will need to be replaced.

Hello Sam,
The same case in our tape drive LTO 8, was already applied you provided steps but the same status.
Confirm the problem is hardware and the unit? Thanks for your prompt response
