I'm setting up my first SAN, right now I'm doing some setup in a lab environment and learning my way around. The ME4 will have 3 PowerEdge servers connected via direct SAS connections. I'm going through all the documentation, and I'm stuck at Disk Groups. I'm using the ME4 web interface to go through the initial setup screens. It's prompting me with a recommended configuration to put all disks in a single Disk Group. I am not sure why this is recommended. I have 24 disks, and expected I would make 12 RAID-1 disk groups. What are the pros/cons of each approach?
