Powervault TL1000 admin password lockout
Hi
Does anyone know if there is a way of resetting the web admin password for a TL 1000 as it has been locked out or if there is a master override account.

Hello Big_A1,
If you reset your TL1000 back to factory settings it should restore your passwords back to factory. Here is a link to the user’s guide & if you look on page 63 it explains how to restore to defaults. https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powervault/storage-tl1000_user%27s_guide3_en-us.pdf
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

When I create a new user it is created with an expired password, even though I have set 0 to expiry settings ("Maximum number of days before password must be changed" and "Minimum number of days before password can be changed")
When I try to login it prompts to change the password, but the change never happens, it does not work. End result: whenever someone needs the web ui, the whole config must be reset and config from scratch.
Could not find a firmware upgrade to fix this, any other solution or workaround?
Library firmware version: 0106.3000
Drive firmware version: J451

Hello A1 Engenharia,
Here is the link to the users guide for your TL1000 & if you look on page 76 it states the following “Note: A new user's Password status is set to Expired. A new user is presented with a Login
failure message and given the opportunity to create a new password.” https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powervault/storage-tl1000_users-guide4_en-us.pdf
Have you tried to set a temp password on the new account & once you try to login change the password to a different password?
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Yes, I am prompted for a new password, but it does not work. I input old pass, new pass twice, hit "submit" but nothing changes. When I try to login, it still uses old password an thus asks for the change again, and again, and again....

Hello A1 Engenharia,
What I would say is that there looks to be an issue with your TL1000 management controller in the chassis. If your system is still under warranty, then please private message me your service tag and we can setup a replacement chassis for you.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

It has just been replaced. Old one got a tape stuck in the driver and I am setting the replacement. Also, it is obviously a software issue; sorry, I dont think replacing the chassis again will solve the problem. I believe it just needs a new firmware with the correction.
