Pre-Sales Help / Advice request - DELL NAS devices
Hello I am planning to purchase a DELL NAS device
I m need to back up PE6600 (Ms Win2003 server DATA files ) and PE2850 (Red Hat Linux server DATA files ) on daily basis. Each day should be on a different Hard Drive.
Can Win Storage server back-up data from Network folders (Windows and Linux) daily basis to a different Hard Drive of the NAS device. Or should I consider purchasing Backup Exec like softwares ?
I already own a PW110T 320GB. All my 7 SDLT tapes (Usd 100each ) was distroyed by the Tape Driver.
I m planning to use the PW110T for week end back ups only.
Is this project feasible ?
Many Thanks

Windows Storage server is mostly for file shares, but you can push information from your Linux / Windows hosts to the NAS. From there Windows can provide you with shadow copies of your data at a point in time every so often.
From there you can backup to tape if you like.
