Problem with ST1800MM0128

We are trying to install HD Seagate ST1800MM0128 on the server, but I get this incompatibility message. I did not find any firmware updates for this model in the Dell files. Has anyone ever faced this problem?

Important: We currently work with 12 HD ST300MP0004, although it is not located in the last February file, the HD works correctly.

Thanks

Hello robsonfelix12123,

The Seagate Part# that you listed is not on the support matrix for your MD3xxx that you have. All drive that are support in an MD3xxx system need to have a Dell Part# that match from the matrix otherwise the drives may not work & won’t be seen. Here is a link to the support matrix just in case you need it. http://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/common/MD32XX_MD36XX_Supportmatrix2_en-us.pdf

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Only the hard drives that have the Part Number work? If I have the same model but with another Part Number, it does not work? I own Seagate ST1200MM0088 as available in the indicated file, but it displays incompatible message.

Hello robsonfelix12123,

Yes all HDD that go into an MD3xxx system need to have both a dell part#, & match the model# from the support matrix. If the HDD don’t have both then in most cases the drive will not work in an MD3xxx system.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
