PV-100T Offline in Arcserve

Our PV-100T has started going offline as of late. I have updated firmware to 911D 052, no luck. Also server firmware. Drive never fails Dell TapeRX test. I am running a backup right now, no errors. I can not make this drive fail....unless I just let it run on schedule at night. BrightStor Arcserve 11.1 services are started and automatic. I am getting W3832 errors (no blank tape) in Arcserve, due to offline drive, and also E6300 SCSI port errors, but only randomly. Drive is disabled in Windows Device Manager, as Arcserve likes it. I have run Dell Diags as well, never fails.

Is there light at the end of this bleak backup tunnel? : )

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

ARCserve will display any errors in the activity log file.  The SCSI errors that are dispalyed will have a error message associated with it.  What do the SCSI Port errors display?  (i.e. Hardware error)

Richard, thanks for reponding. The Arcserve/BrightStor error is:

E6300 Windows NT SCSI PORT Error[ABSL:4060 CMD:0h]

At this point is that the tape drive goes offline. Then I get:

W3832 Unable to find a blank media

Any advice on troubleshooting down farther? CA tier-1 is not very helpful. So far, tier-2 has been reading the logs back to me...

Any help is appreciated!

Matt
