Remove disks from Disk Pool on MD3220i
Hi there
We recently added 3 new HDD's to our MD3220i and added them to the wrong disk pool via MDSM. We need to remove the disks from the pool to add to a separate disk group.
I've searched all over and haven't been able to find anything on how to do this. Anyone here have experience with this or at least know of a reference that outlines this process?
Thanks!

Hello, Tim.
In the 8.10.05.60 firmware versions and up, there is an option to "Remove Physical Disks(Capacity)" available. From the GUI, on the "Storage & Copy Services" tab, right click on the "Disk Pool" (in the left tree view pane), and you should see a "Remove Physical Disks(Capacity)" option which will take you through the process.
Let me know if this works for you, or if you have any other questions. Have a great rest of the week!

Bump....
Really in a bind here and hoping someone can point us in the right direction. The only other alternative I've been able to find is to completely destroy our disk pool and rebuild it which we're obviously hoping to avoid.
Thanks again!

Wonderful! The issue was not having the latest firmware installed so the "Remove Physical Disks" option didn't exist. As soon as I upgraded, I was able to remove the disks without issue.
Thanks so much!

Actually i am on Firmware version: 08.20.05.60.So that would help to remove free space from existing pool?
