Scripting on the ML6000

I was wondering if there is any way to script the process of importing tapes into the library.  I am attempting to fully automate the restoral / testing process for a few of our mission critical systems.  We are using Commvault for our backups which will us to export tapes after the backup completes, but according to a couple engineers the recall media option will not recall media in the import / export slots.

I have attempted to ssh into the library, but according to a post ssh is just for engineering purposes.  Is there any other way to programatically import tapes into the library?
