Hi, I get an Error 1+3 with 1x32gb 12800l dimm installed on a Dell Precision T3610. But seems to work fine on other T3610 workstations. Is there something that I am missing Bios is A19.
Quick update, supplier swapped out my machine with another one with 32gb working memory, and the memory is faster so that is good. Also he upgraded my from a K2000 to a K4000 graphics card for my troubles, so I am happy about that. But they don't know why some machines work with the 32gb dimms and some don't.
Technically according to Dell and Crucial specs, a 32 GB RAM module is not compatible with the T3610. 8 RAM slots with a maximum of 16 GB per slot for a total of 128 GB of RAM.

I was afraid that it might be something like that, thanks.
I bought my T3610 from a company and it arrived with 4x8gb dimms, one expired after 6 hours, so they couriered 2x16gb dimms to me as a replacement. One of those was faulty straight away. So then they sent out 1x32gb dimm. And that one gives the error. I questioned the whole 16gb dimm max but they said that they had tested it in a T3610 with A19 bios and it worked. So I that I would ask the community and see if there was a solution
The PSU failure is with a flashing power button and 1+3 led. I know that a solid white power button and led 1+3 is memory detected but unsupported, but with Bios A19 update the other T3610 is working fine with the single 32gb dimm. So I was wondering if there was some other setting that I needed.
Maybe the 2 computers have a different revision of the motherboard. Older revision is not working and newer is (this is just an idea, you could check the motherboard revision/code using hwinfo , or sysoft sandra, or other tools )
There is always that, but I got the big boss involved as this has been going on since the 12 April. And he seemed fairly unhappy that they had not resolved the problem. They have a pretty good reputation, one of the reasons I chose them. Anyway they are going to collect my machine and either fix it or replace it. But the time delay is frustrating.
Yeah I saw that too in my quest for answers. But I will question the seller about board revisions and see if that played a part in the elusive 32gb dimm, will post the results when I have more answers.
