5820 NVME drive amber flashing with Linux installed

After rebuilding my Precision 5820 Tower over to Linux the NVME drive flashes amber as soon as the machine starts booting into Linux itself (Proxmox/Debian).  The indicator is green during POST and the initial booting phase (Dell logo).  Everything is operating normally when the machine comes up though (but amber flashing continues).  I’m wondering if this is caused by the standard Dell boot partitioning being wiped during the Linux install.  There is only one partition now and what I believe was probably diagnostics, etc. is now gone.  Unfortunately, Dell does not make it easy to investigate this issue where my service tag is tied to Windows 10.  Do I need to somehow rebuild the Dell partitions to be able to access diagnostics, etc?  If so, how?
