7875 - cannot remove the side cover

I am trying to open up a 7875 workstation case, and just don't seem to be able to do it.

The latch on the side panel is unlocked, I can pivot it as suggested on this page , whatever I do the last step does not work - the cover remains locked in, even though the latch is pushed all the way in.

Am I doing something wrong?
