Cable compatibility problems

Im trying to upgrade my PSU on my Dell Precision 3620 to a 650W PSU which uses a complete different PIN layout and i don't know if the cable i found is matching for the motherboard.
Power Supply Motherboard Adapter Cable 24Pin to 8Pin ATX Dell Optiplex 3020 7020 (OEM)This is the cable i found which from the site its called: "Power Supply Motherboard Adapter Cable 24Pin to 8Pin ATX Dell Optiplex 3020 7020 (OEM)" but from searching around im getting mixed results of "it will work just fine" and "it will fit but there are gonna be some problems".I would appreciate some input on whether or not to buy this cable or find a alternative solution

Yes that cable is for legacy Dell 8 pin motherboard socket including Optiplex 7020, 7040, Inspiron 3650 and P3620.  to be sure use Moddiy 24 to 8 pin adapter for 3620
