CPU compaibility.
Hi Dell Community,
I finally decide to buy a Precision fixed Workstation instead the Optiplex MT, and I have found a Precision 3620 MT with a Xeon processor E3-1240 v5, and my question is:
Can I change the Xeon CPU to the Core i7-7700K in the same motherboard of Xeon CPU? The Xeon socket can also work with the Core i7?

So, finally the CPU socket can be operational with the Xeon as well as the Core i7, for the same motherboard.

No. Socket compatibility is just the beginning - the system will not boot with an i7 CPU.
