You forgot to mention the 5th way to update BIOS: Download to flash drive formatted to FAT32 and then go into F12 Boot Menu and boot from it.

As I already posted in my own topic, BIOS 01.06.02 fixed my problem that my Precision 7875 turns itself on from shutdown state. I'm unhappy in how this was handled by support because of the amount of barriers I had to go through to get support that I ended up giving up on it, but I'm glad it is resolved now and that I no longer need to use an external power switch to keep my system turned off.
This fix is not mentioned in the change logs of the BIOS update.
