Precision T7910, quad PCIe/ NVMe SSD option
Hi everyone. Looking to add M.2 SSD card slots. Perhaps Dell PCIe x16 M.2 SSD card, DP/N 414-BBBJ or Dell PCIe x8 M.2 SSD card, DP/N 400-AKSO. Need help to find the Dell specifications. The Dell 4x m.2 PCIe x16 version of the HP Z Turbo Quad Pro (servethehome.com).

It's passive adapter so the specs is from the PCIe slots. For example, if you are going to install an ultra-speed quad adapter on a x16 gen 3 slot, each nvme ssd can run up to 32 Gbps or max out at (hypothetical) 128 Gbps with VROC raid 0.
Some other notes, you can see x2 nvme ssd on a x8 slot. The ssd speed will be reduced to a half when installing on a gen 2 PCIe slot. You can get an Asus Hyper adapter, it works the same but cooler because of the giant heatsink.

If you just want to add one nice-fast NVMe-SSD in one PCIe slot, you certainly don't need anything that elaborate (see above). Also, notice how slow it is (especially the writes).
For $25, you can buy a simple PCIe Addin card that will connect one NVMe-SSD directly to x4-PCIe-slot and get speeds like 3200 r/w.

Just ran across a technical guide for T7920 which included technical specs for Dell Ultra-Speed adapters. Hope that it could add more useful information for you.
