At the Crucial site here, they indicate both ECC and NON-ECC RAM as compatible. I suspect the problem lies more in the Samsung being non-compatible RAM. Dell systems are very picky about compatible RAM and the most compatible is Crucial.

have you tried with udimm ecc ?

2133 is too slow.  2666 and 2933 ram works fine 1.2v non XMP.  Must be Low Density INTEL compatible ram.

Thanks for that information. I assume the user was going by the specs here which call for 2133 RAM.

Hi @pribobo,

Though this thread is a few months old, a new post made it pop up again.

If not already, be sure not to mix ECC and non-ECC RAM.
