The specs for the 7760 do indeed call for 3200 MHz RAM. The fact that the system clocked down to 2933 makes me wonder if some of the RAM modules are not 3200 but are 2933. Also since you are trying to match Crucial with Dell RAM (which is very probably not Micron) leads me to believe the problem is RAM that is not compatible with each other or with the system. The best way to purchase RAM is in a matched kit, in this case 4 sticks of 8 GB 3200 RAM from Crucial. Possibly return the 16 GB of Crucial and replace it with 32 GB from Crucial.
Thanks for the help! It scares me to change also the two primary memory modules because I would have to tear the whole computer apart, not only the back cover...
Was thinking about buying 7760. It is nice to know that two of the memory slots are on the top of the board and not easy to access. I wanted to remove the Dell memory and add 64K. Didn't really want to remove the mother board in order to change out the memory.
I have Processor : 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11950H @ 2.60GHz 2.61 GHz latop type : PRECISION 7760
and looks like I have 2 slots of 4 RAMs is 32 , I need to upgrade to 64 or 128 Can I add another 32G or it should be same as 16 per slot and how can I know they type of my RAMs from my laptop without opening it ?
I have a Precision 7760 with an i9-11950H CPU with 2 x 16GB of RAM installed from the factory. This 32GB of RAM runs at 3200MHz, but when I tried to install 2 x 16GB of Dell RAM modules in the last 2 slots, the RAM slowed to 2933MHz. The fact that this CPU runs at 3200MHz with factory modules but slows anytime additional RAM is installed, appears to be a defective BIOS/CMOS situation.
Dell's own documentation shows that this CPU should run this memory at 3200MHz.

You won't. You would just have to remove 8 screws on the keyboard, and you got access to the other 2 memory banks.
I am also in the process of doing this; if you read the technical users manual, you will find what you need.
