Battery compatibility Precision 5520
I had hoped to get a OEM battery replacement for my Dell Precision 5520, however the battery model "6GTPY" does not appear to be on the store. I noticed the W62W6 model appeared to be similar and supported the 5530. The battery does fit but causes the indicator LED to blink white and amber. There is a message on boot claiming it's not a dell battery. Will I simply need to return this one and get a third party battery.

I ordered a 6GTPY directly from Dell before it went out of stock, but instead incorrectly received a GPM03. While this battery is also 97 Wh and physically fits and connects to the laptop, the laptop displays an error at startup stating it cannot detect the battery and refuses to charge. Beware if you try to buy a 6GTPY from Dell - I have sent in 3 support tickets asking to be refunded as I received the wrong item, and it still has not been resolved.

Precision 5520 OEM battery part numbers =
GPM03 Simplo 97WHR
5XJ28 LG Chemical 97WHR
5D91C LG Chemical 56WHR
CP6DF BYD 56WHR
6GTPY is a 97WHR battery but does not show manufacturer or which laptops it is tested in? Parts People list XPS 15 9560/9570. But neither of those pages list it.
W62W6 Simplo 97WHR was never validated for the Precision 5520.
