Dell precision 5680: webcam does not work on linux

The webcam fails to show up, there is an error with the IVSC prove (error code -22). This is with the 6.11 linux kernel. Can we expect a fix upstream or is this just expected to sort of work on 6.8 OEM kernels? This makes these laptops nearly useless when we need to do interviews.

Hello..  I'm having the same problem with my Dell Precision 5690.. webcam not working -- and I can see that the device *is* enabled, and I know it worked in the Windows 11 environment.    I now have the Linux kernel 6.8.0-48.. from Ubuntu.   So.. being new at installs like this, how do I go about installing the Dell provided Ubuntu kernel you mentioned, 6.8 OEM?   Could I get a driver -- for the webcam itself?

Otherwise.. if you think that a firmware update is the better route, I will try that.   Thanks for any help you can provide.
