GPU upgrade for Precision M4800

My Precision M4800 has a Quadro K2100M in it, and I'm thinking of upgrading it to something else that's a bit more powerful. I looked around in some threads and found out that it's upgradeable to at least a dell-branded M2000M. I'm just checking if it's safe before I upgrade it and risk breaking something, being I haven't upgraded a laptop GPU before.

I found a listing on eBay for an M2000M from a Precision 7510: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Dell-Precision-7510-4GB-Video-Graphics-Card-Nvidia-Quadro-M2000M-51FCV/153764403394?hash=item23cd1298c2:g:YMQAAOSwHOtczFLr

Will this GPU work?

As long as it's plugged in with an 180W charger it will work great, but the battery won't last 10 minutes using the GPU. If you are using Windows 7 or later you can enable optimus in the bios and use the integrated graphics for normal programs on battery power.

Enable OPTIMUS in the bios, download a driver that works with your laptop, then go into the GPU settings and select the game or program you  want to use for that GPU. I can do this on the Dell M4700, so it should work with the 4800.

Just added a Quadro M2200 to my Precision M4800. Other than the keyboard cable being a total mess afterwards, the mod was just a bunch of removing screws and ribbon cables. I used some good thermal paste and reused the AMD heat pipe that was on my prior card. I googled the nvidia version, and every one I found looked identical to the AMD one so I went with it. Everything seems to work fine albeit a bit hotter than I would like (it's a mobile workstation, so whatever).

@t4thfavor Hello, I have a Dell Precision M4800 Mobile W/S pretty well beefed up looking to install an Nvidia Quadro M2200 Graphics card in the M4800. I've already bought the card and for the life of me can't find any info about it until I came here. I was just wondering if you'd help and let me know what I have to do or any extra parts I need, (Like a new Screen) or different cables to get the M2200 into the M4800 MXM-A slot...?

Thanks in Advance...!  =)

@jimlp12

I bought nothing extra. Just redid the heatsink paste and sent it. Seems to be fine after a year.
