Did you find a solution? I got the exact same symptoms on mine after trying to enter Windows 10 Safe mode by constantly pressing F8. No POST, can't reinstall BIOS from usb, no Dell logo just black. Removed CMOS battery also and reseated. Tried removing hardware.
Holding D with power button shows display works and holding M for motherboard testing doesn't give anything either, just has led lights on. Nothing on HDMI output.
Sorry to hear it. Well yeah at this point for me were left with following possibilities if warranty is ended:
- new motherboard from second hand (still rather expensive)
- try to fix it.
As had nothing to lose, started looking into these bios chips (as thought high possibility of this fault due symptoms). Found the right model for me and then came across on ebay that they are selling those pre-programmed with your model bios.
Ordered a chip programmer and one of those pre-programmed chips. Thought if need to reflash it still if need to include my specific model data.
But after resoldering it and it POSTed and all worked fine, left it as it is (also my original id numbers were right, thought they are stored on bios chip?). Updated the bios to newest version and all good again. No clue what happened, but there is a metal plate across the bios chip (fixed with one screw), and perhaps it shorted out some pins there? Seems awful common problem and hope that dell fixes it on newer models or adds secondary chip for these problems.
But for solution if nothing works and have same symptoms, then perhaps before getting a new motherboard its worth a try. You'd need to solder it yourself or ask someone, I managed to do it myself with some experience with soldering and hobby soldering set.
Great idea, I ordered a BIOS replacement chip for only EUR 18 (!). Just to save time and risk, was it the easily accessible SO8 body near the battery connector (Winbond 25Q32FV flash)? Will let you know if replacing that component helped. Thanks!
Yeah the easy to get one near the battery connector. Mine had a marking: Winbond 25q128fvsq, which is 128Mbit chip (check if got the right one, as 25Q32FV seems like 32Mbit?).
Did the BIOS Chip work for you? We are ordering one for the same symptoms. Precision 5510 power but no post. Display is fine when we press the power button and the D key.

Exactly the same symptoms here, tried the same steps. Did you find a solution other than sending it in for repair?
