M6500

Hellos - I have several old units running XP. I need them to run old imaging systems that have no updated drivers. I have 3 that I use; M6500, M4500, D830.

On my M6500 the bluetooth is very oddly setup. It seems to be set in the WPAN card, but I am not 100% sure. I have read that there my be a BT card under the LCD bezel??

anyway, I cant get the BT to work. While the WPAN card is installed, in the BIOS it shows 'NONE' in systems devices. Yet I have a BT light on the panel on above the keyboard. I cant hook any BT devise [no discovery].

I have tried 2 WPAN cards.

How do I get it to work?  TY  regards,, dw

Reset BIOS to defaults, enable Bluetooth in BIOS, install XP-compatible BT driver, and reseat the WPAN card under the LCD bezel.

On the Dell M6500 Bluetooth can be confusing because it depends on the exact hardware setup In many cases the WPAN card alone does not enable Bluetooth and the system may also need a separate Bluetooth module which is sometimes located under the palm rest or LCD area If BIOS shows NONE then the system is not detecting any Bluetooth hardware which is why discovery is not working The Bluetooth light does not always mean the device is functional since it can just indicate wireless power You should check BIOS settings update BIOS and also confirm whether a dedicated Bluetooth module is physically installed because without it Bluetooth will not work on some M6500 configurations
