I've had the Precision 5520 for a few months now and am overall pretty happy with it. My biggest issue is that the fan seems to run LOUD almost all the time, even when doing fairly basic tasks. Right now I'm typing this message, and don't have much else going on with my machine (some Chrome tabs open, Outlook, Slack), but still I can hear the fan loud and clear. Do other people experience this? Are there any solutions? I was thinking it might be a video driver issue, but I have the latest drivers (non ISV-certified) from the Dell site, and they don't seem to makea difference.
I saw these articles before and have done all these things. It does not help. I had the XPS 15 before, and it seemed to run much quieter. The Precision 5520 seems to kick up the fans constantly, even doing fairly basic tasks, even though it is a more powerful machine. Is this just normal for this laptop to constantly be running the fans loudly?
